The Lamas variety is very selective with regard to the environment and thus its cultivation is restricted to an area between Erdemli and Silifke in the west of Provincial Mersin in the Mediterranean Region of Turkey.
The medium size fruit body is of cylindrical shape, a round protrusion with a pointed tip identifies the fruit. The rind of the juicy fruit with distinctive taste and aroma is smooth, shiny and yellow. Lamas variety can be stored under suitable conditions for periods as long as nine months.

This variety is a citrus fruit obtained by graft between cedar and “ariddaru” lemon.
The very elevate growth cadence of these fruits and the high-precocious maturation period makes this variety consumptive since September, when other lemon varieties are not available on market.

The trees are around 6 to 10 ft (2 to 3 m) tall at maturity, though they can be pruned smaller. Their leaves are dark green and shiny. The flowers are white with a purple base and fragrant.
The Meyer lemon fruit is yellow and rounder than a true lemon. The skin is fragrant and thin, coloured a deep yellow with a slight orange tint when ripe. Meyer lemon fruits have a sweeter, less acidic flavour than the more common Lisbon or Eureka supermarket lemon varieties. The pulp is a dark yellow and contains up to 10 seeds per fruit.
